The M7S is designed to help improve the appearance of uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, dullness, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots. It also significantly enhances the absorption of topical serums and skincare products, making your existing routine more effective. The adjustable needle depth (0–2.5mm) and 6 speed settings let you tailor each session to your face, neck, or scalp for a more even, refreshed-looking complexion.
The M7S is Dr.Pen's newest 2025 model, featuring a high-performance 16,000 RPM motor with ultra-quiet Advanced Oscillating Vertical Needling technology. Compared to the M8S, the M7S offers a more compact wireless form factor, a cleaner one-button LED interface, and a broader cartridge compatibility range. The A8S is better suited for users who prefer a slimmer pen-style grip and PMU-style precision. If you want a beginner-friendly yet professional-grade device with cordless convenience and versatile cartridge options, the M7S is an excellent choice.
The M7S allows you to adjust needle depth from 0 to 2.5mm in precise increments. For delicate areas like under the eyes, lips, and neck, start at 0.25–0.5mm on a low speed setting. General facial use works well between 0.5–1.5mm. Thicker skin areas such as the forehead, jawline, or scalp can benefit from 1.5–2.5mm. If you are new to microneedling, always begin at a shallower depth and gradually increase as your skin builds tolerance over multiple sessions.
The M7S is compatible with the full range of Dr.Pen M7S cartridges, including 9-Pin, 12-Pin, 16-Pin, 24-Pin, 36-Pin, 42-Pin, Nano-R, Nano-S, Nano-3D, and Nano-5D tips. Fine-gauge 11-pin and 16-pin cartridges (0.18mm needle diameter) deliver less discomfort and are ideal for sensitive skin areas. Nano cartridges work best for surface-level serum infusion without deep needling. Always use genuine Dr.Pen cartridges to ensure a secure fit, consistent needle depth, and safe results.
For standard microneedling sessions, we recommend spacing each session 4–6 weeks apart to give your skin adequate time to recover and renew. For nano-needling with Nano-R or Nano-S cartridges, sessions can be performed every 1–2 weeks and can even be scheduled between your regular microneedling sessions. Most users begin noticing visible improvements in skin texture and radiance after 2–3 sessions, with more significant results developing over continued use.
Sensation levels vary based on needle depth, speed setting, and individual skin sensitivity. Most users find lower speed settings on delicate areas quite comfortable. For deeper depth settings or more sensitive skin types, applying a topical numbing cream (lidocaine-based) 20–30 minutes before your session can noticeably reduce any discomfort. Be sure to wipe off the numbing cream completely with a clean cloth before starting your session, and never use the device over irritated, broken, or inflamed skin.
Before your session, cleanse your skin thoroughly and apply a hydrating serum — hyaluronic acid is ideal — to reduce drag and support smooth glide. After your session, focus on calming and barrier-supporting ingredients: hyaluronic acid, peptides, and niacinamide are all well-tolerated on freshly needled skin. Avoid active ingredients including retinol, vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), AHAs, BHAs, and benzoyl peroxide for at least 24–48 hours post-session, as the skin barrier is temporarily more permeable and sensitive.
The M7S should not be used on active breakouts, open wounds, cold sores, or inflamed skin. Individuals with eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, or other active skin conditions should consult a dermatologist before use. Those who are pregnant, currently taking blood-thinning medications, or who have a known history of keloid formation should seek medical advice prior to use. If you have recently had laser resurfacing, chemical peels, or facial surgery, wait until your skin has fully healed before beginning microneedling.
Each cartridge is designed for single use only and must be properly disposed of after every session — even if you are the only user. Reusing cartridges introduces the risk of contamination, dull needles, and uneven penetration that can lead to skin irritation. After each session, remove the used cartridge, cap the pen tip, and wipe the exterior of the device with a clean, dry cloth. Store your M7S in its protective case in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Mild redness and a warm, flushed sensation immediately following your session are completely normal responses and typically resolve within 12–24 hours. Users with more sensitive skin may notice minor swelling or small pinpoint marks that fade within 24–48 hours. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours after needling, and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen the following morning. Skip heavy makeup for the first 24 hours to allow your skin barrier to recover, and keep your post-session skincare routine simple and gentle.
