FAQ

Are these cartridges compatible with the Dr.Pen A6, and will they fit other Dr.Pen models?

These cartridges are designed and engineered exclusively for the Dr.Pen A6. They are not cross-compatible with other Dr.Pen models including the A1, A8S, A10, M7, or M8S. The A6 uses its own proprietary cartridge connector, so using a cartridge intended for a different model may result in a poor fit, inaccurate needle depth, or device damage. Always verify your pen model before purchasing.

What needle configurations are available for the A6 cartridges?

Dr.Pen A6 replacement cartridges are available in six configurations to cover a wide range of skin needs: 12-Pin for targeted, small-area work; 24-Pin for moderate coverage on contoured zones like the nose bridge and chin; 36-Pin and 42-Pin for broad, efficient coverage on the cheeks, jawline, and neck; Nano-R (nano-crystal) for gentle surface refinement and enhanced serum absorption; and Nano-S (silicone nano) for ultra-sensitive areas such as around the eyes and lips. Choosing the right pin count for your target area helps maximize comfort and results.

How often do I need to replace my A6 cartridge?

Each Dr.Pen A6 cartridge is a single-use item and should be replaced after every session. Microneedles lose their precision edge after one use, which can lead to increased skin dragging, uneven penetration, and a higher risk of post-session redness. For hygiene and performance reasons, always begin each treatment with a factory-sealed cartridge and dispose of it properly in a sharps container immediately after use. Never reuse a cartridge, even between sessions on the same person.

Are the A6 cartridges sterile and safe to use at home?

Yes. All Dr.Pen A6 replacement cartridges are individually packaged in sealed, sterile pouches and processed through EO (ethylene oxide) sterilization to meet at-home safety standards. To maintain sterility throughout your session, open the packaging only when you are ready to begin, avoid contact with the needle tip, and work on freshly cleansed skin. Any cartridge whose packaging has been previously opened, torn, or damaged should be discarded and replaced with a new one before proceeding.

I'm upgrading from the Dr.Pen A1 — is the A6 cartridge noticeably different, and which one should I start with?

The Dr.Pen A6 is a significant step up from the A1, offering greater speed settings and more consistent motor performance, which means cartridge choice becomes even more important for dialing in your results. If you are transitioning from the A1, we recommend starting with a 24-Pin cartridge at a conservative depth (0.5 mm–0.75 mm) to get a feel for the A6's stronger motor before increasing intensity. Once comfortable, the 36-Pin and 42-Pin cartridges are excellent for full-face sessions, while Nano-R cartridges remain a go-to for finishing passes focused on texture and product absorption. Give your skin one to two sessions to adapt to the A6 before pushing to deeper settings.
